AT&T (News - Alert) recently announced a new network-based solution named AT&T Secure E-mail Gateway Service which verifies the integrity of a message prior to its entry to an organization's network. Also, it helps to monitor, examine, and take action on all outbound e-mail that contains content that violates data loss prevention policies.
According to Bill O'Hern, assistant vice president of Technology Security at AT&T Business Solutions, the company is focused on providing customers of all sizes the solutions they need to combat today's evolving cyber security threats through the company’s network-based approach to fully managed network security services.
“With this new AT&T Secure E-mail Gateway (News - Alert) Service, our customers can ensure the integrity of a message before it even enters their network. In addition, the solution helps to meet compliance regulations as unwanted content is blocked and sensitive content can be encrypted with this service," O’Hern said.
Other key features of AT&T Secure E-Mail Gateway Service include the ability to offer superior protection against internal and external e-mail threats like commercial spam, malicious attachments, direct e-mail server connections from spammers and botnet-controlled endpoints, and e-mail embedded URL-based attacks.
Also, the solution enables monitoring and quick action to be taken on outbound e-mail having content that violates policies.
Marc Olesen, senior video president and general manager of McAfee (News - Alert) Software-as-a-Service said, "This strategic relationship with AT&T underscores the importance of delivering comprehensive security solutions, enabling us to drive even more complete and integrated IT solutions to enterprises across the world.”
