Find out when to get the best deal on flat-screen TVs [The Star, Shelby, N.C.]

(Star (Shelby, NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 07--If you're thinking about buying a flat-screen TV now, you might want to wait until Black Friday.

According to research by iSuppli, a market research firm in the electronics industry, liquid-crystal display television sales will increase because brand names are lowering prices on sets with advanced features like Internet connectivity and light-emitting diode backlighting.

The Star talked with some local retailers about their sales.

"I can't release the prices for Black Friday," said Wendy Wright, store manager at Kmart. "But I know they will be good." Wright said Kmart sells eight to 10 flat-screens a day. RCA has been the store's best seller so far.

Johnny Wise, store manager at Walmart, said one of its current sales is giving $40, $80 and $250 gift cards away when customers buy certain sizes and brands of TVs like Vizio.

"TV prices fall in the same with electronics," Wise said. "Competitors are always adjusting prices with newer technology." For Sears, employee Ashly Christian said the low prices are helping business out.

"They're also selling good because of the switch over to digital," she said.

Walmart and Sears won't know any sales prices for Black Friday until at least a week before the big day.
