W-B Twp. Dems to meet The Wilkes-Barre Township Democratic Organization will meet tonight at 7 at American Legion Post 815 on Chestnut Street. Mike Wildes will preside.

Meet Kingston candidates The Kingston Citizens Advisory Commission will hold a "Meet the Candidates" forum for residents tonight at 7:30 in the Kingston municipal building, 500 Wyoming Ave. Mayoral, council and school board candidates were invited.


Amesbury event There will be a meet-and-greet for Luzerne County Judge candidate Bill Amesbury tonight from 7 to 9 at King's Restaurant on Route 309 in Mountain Top.

Martin meeting The Committee to Elect Elizabeth (Liz) Martin for Dallas Township Supervisor will hold a meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in The Showroom, 50 Lake St., Dallas.

County controller forum Dave Yonki, author of the LuLac Political Letter blog, lulacpoliticaletter.blogspot.com, will hold a public forum for Luzerne County controller candidates Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Luzerne County Community College's Educational Conference Center in Nanticoke. WILK radio talk show host Sue Henry will be moderator.

O'Connor meet-and-greet There will be a meet-and-greet for Luzerne County judge candidate Thomas O'Connor from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at MelRoe's Family Restaurant, 832 Salem Boulevard, Berwick. The event is free and light refreshments will be served.

Pendolphi event There will be a meet-the-candidate night for Luzerne County judge candidate Michael A. Pendolphi from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Chicken Coop, 531 Scott St., Wilkes-Barre. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by sending a check to Pendolphi for Judge Committee, 1141 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, PA 18704. Call 718-0240 for information.

Bolin/Marianacci request John Bolin and John Marianacci, who are seeking re-election to the Wyoming Area School Board, are asking anyone interested in working the polls on primary election day to meet at Cheers Caf on Thursday from 8 to 10 p.m.

Polachek Gartley events Luzerne County Judge candidate Tina Polachek Gartley is having two events: n Meet-and-greet on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Meeting House in Drums. There will be a cash bar. A $15 donation is requested. RSVP to www.tinaforjudge.com or by calling 443-1121.

n "Get Out the Vote Rally" on Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Polish American Veterans Pavilion, 2 S. Oak St., Plains Township. Music by Hat Tryk, refreshments and food are included. Fischer seeks re-election Pete Fischer announces he is running for re-election as Ashley Ward 1 constable. He has been a constable for the last 10 years.

Wytoshek running again Al "Tiger" Wytoshek is seeking re-election as Nanticoke tax collector, a position he has held since 2002. Wytoshek, a Nanticoke native, previously served three terms on city council.

Moyer seeks nomination Shirley A. Moyer is seeking the Republican nomination for Kingston Township Supervisor. Moyer, a 37-year resident of Shavertown, was elected in 1993 and served two terms as supervisor, opting not to seek a third because of personal reasons.

Klinges seeks council seat Drew Klinges is running for a seat on Kingston council. He has lived in the municipality for 13 years.

Kersey running for GSC Christopher "C.J." Kersey announces his candidacy for the Luzerne County Home Rule Government Study Commission.

Kersey, a 1990 graduate of Wyoming Seminary who holds a degree in political science from Dickinson College and a master's degree in education from Wilkes University, lives in Kingston with his wife, Catie. Kersey is a history and American government teacher at Wyoming Seminary.

Salvo to run Ken Salvo Jr. is running for mayor of Duryea Borough.

Salvo, a Pittston Area graduate, majored in drafting at Wilkes-Barre Area Career and Technical Center. He works in the construction industry and owns Emergency Lighting NEPA. Salvo resides on Stephenson Street with his wife Sheri Rose.

Kapish seeks re-election Stan Kapish is running for re-election to Duryea council.

Kapish, a lifelong borough resident, graduated from Pittston Area and attended Luzerne County Community College, East Stroudsburg University and Penn State, where he received degrees in applied science and business administration. He is employed by United Parcel Service and Kaps Construction and Realty.

Orkwis to run again Edward Orkwis is seeking re-election to Duryea council.

Orkwis, a lifelong borough resident, graduated from Pittston Area and attended Luzerne County Community College and Penn State. He was married to the late Theresa Patterson.

Orkwis was the former owner of Old Country Packers and is currently employed at the Wal-Mart distribution center.

McGlynn running again Michael McGlynn is seeking re-election to Duryea Borough council.

McGlynn, a graduate of Pittston Area, is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. He is married to the former Ethel "Rainey" Van Louvendor.

Burke seeks re-election David Burke is running again for Duryea council.

The Pittston Area graduate is married to the former Heather Fiorucci. Burke is manager of A&A Auto in Peckville.

Griglock to run Marie Griglock is running for council in Hughestown. She served as borough secretary for seven years.

Gable seeks seat Robert Gable is running for Hughestown council.

Gable, a borough resident for 21 years, graduated from Pittston Area. He is employed in the retail pharmacy industry, currently with Rite Aid in Scranton.

Sarti to run Geraldine Sarti is running for Democratic inspector of elections in Hughestown.

Sarti, a graduate of Coughlin High School, is retired. She was a poll worker for more than 10 years.

Pierce running Lois Heckman Pierce plans to run for inspector of elections in Hughestown.

Pierce, a graduate of Hughestown High School, has held several positions with St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
