DataPath Announces the Appointment of Board MembersDULUTH, Ga., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- DataPath, Inc., a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks around the world, today publicly announced the appointment of five members to its board of directors: -- Valerie L. Baldwin, an independent consultant for the defense industry, and former assistant secretary and chief financial officer, U.S. Army. -- Retired U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Lyle G. Bien, former deputy commander-in- chief, U.S. Space Command. -- Michael Montelongo, senior vice president of Strategic Marketing for Sodexho, Inc., and former assistant secretary and chief financial officer, U.S. Air Force. -- Glenn W. Sturm, partner, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. -- Retired U.S. Army Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, president and chief operating officer, Association of the U.S. Army, former 32nd chief of staff of the Army, and former member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The other members of DataPath's board of directors are as follows: -- W. Wilson Lowery, Jr., vice president of WLLP Capital, former executive assistant director of Administration reporting to the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Mr. Lowery also held executive positions at IBM Corp. over a 30-year career. -- James R. Balkcom, Jr., chairman of the board of advisors for Talent Quest and civilian aide to the secretary of the Army (CASA) for Georgia. -- David Behnke, managing director of Najeti Ventures, LLC, principal in the firm of Behnke Doherty & Associates, LLC, former senior vice president of United States Trust Company, N.A., and former managing director with JPMorgan & Company. -- Thomas B. Dyer, chief executive officer (CEO), DataPath, CASA for South Florida, and former chairman and CEO of the Association of Graduates for the U.S. Military Academy. -- Todd Stottlemyer, president and CEO of the National Federation of Independent Business, former CEO of Apogen Technologies and former president of McGuireWoods Consulting. Ms. Baldwin and Mr. Montelongo were appointed to DataPath's board in February 2007. Baldwin was most recently assistant secretary of the U.S. Army, a position in which she was its chief financial officer (CFO) and comptroller, as well as a strategic advisor to the secretary. Ms. Baldwin's government experience includes leadership roles in managing supplemental appropriations for operational and force containment costs of the U.S. military, and upgrading the Army's financial systems. She has extensive congressional experience, having served as staff director for the U.S. House of Representatives, Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Military Construction; and as counsel, U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on Banking and Financial Services. Retired U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Lyle G. Bien is a defense industry consultant working extensively in space-based communications, C4ISR and global missile defense. During active service, he was a member of the Joint Staff, and was the deputy commander-in-chief, U.S. Space Command, where he chaired the Senior Warfighter Forum that rendered the design that became the Wideband Global SATCOM program, previously known as the Wideband Gapfiller System program. He also commanded an F-14 fighter squadron, two carrier airwings, a carrier battle group and the Naval Space Command. He was the senior Navy striker planner for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He is a graduate of, and former instructor at, the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN). Michael Montelongo is senior vice president of Strategic Marketing for Sodexho, Inc., a $6 billion global provider of services to numerous markets, including the military and civil government markets. Mr. Montelongo was previously assistant U.S. Air Force secretary, serving as CFO and comptroller of the $120 billion military service. Mr. Montelongo's military assignments involved major initiatives such as force structure and deployment planning for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and downsizing the Army after the fall of the former Soviet Union. Glenn W. Sturm is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where he practices corporate and technology law. Additionally, Mr. Sturm practices securities law and focuses on the representation of investment banks, technology companies, private equity funds and emerging growth companies. Mr. Sturm previously served on the boards of directors of several companies including WebMD, Intercept ("ICPT") and Private Business (now known as Goldleaf Financial Solutions "GFSI"). Retired U.S. Army Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan has been the president and chief operating officer of the Association of the U.S. Army since 1998. He culminated his military service as the 32nd Chief of Staff -- the senior general officer in the Army -- and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. As the chief of staff of the Army, he created the vision and led the team that transitioned the Army from its Cold War posture. During his Army career, Mr. Sullivan also served as vice chief of staff; deputy chief of staff for operations and plans; commanding general, 1st Infantry Division; deputy commandant, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College; and assistant commandant, U.S. Army Armor School.
