New Scholarship Offers Full Tuition at Branksome Hall


TORONTO, ONTARIO, Nov 27, 2012 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- A new scholarship has the potential to open doors for a young woman with great potential. The new Harold A. Kopas Family Scholarship is available to benefit a new Branksome Hall student who is entering Grade 9 next year.



The recipient of the scholarship will be...

-- Committed to her academic success -- Interested in participating in learning, both in and out of the classroom -- Willing to rise to challenges in athletics, the arts and community service -- Able to reflect the values of the school -- Determined to reach her potential The scholarship will provide full tuition for a day student to attend Branksome Hall for four years, starting in September 2013.


"Our family decided to establish this scholarship because we wanted to give a promising student the opportunity to benefit from a Branksome education," says alumna Brigitte KOPAS'88, whose daughter Jayden also attended the renowned independent girls' school. "Branksome has an incredible number of offerings and experiences for students, both inside and outside of the classroom, which make a profound impact on many young women's education and individual growth. Branksome students leave rich with learnings and opportunities they could not get elsewhere under one roof." Applicants (and their families) must complete the following to qualify: -- A Branksome Hall application online by December 7, 2012 (check the "Scholarship" box on the application) -- The Financial Aid application through Apple Financial by January 14, 2013 -- The Admissions interview and assessment process by February 2013 -- The writing of the Kopas Scholarship essay and the delivery of an oral presentation to the Scholarship Committee by February 2013 Decisions will be communicated to the selected scholarship recipient and her family on February 22, 2013. Branksome Hall Background Established in 1903, Branksome Hall is a leading independent girls' school in downtown Toronto. It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School whose students, from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12, study the IB curriculum.
