We Deliver Local Announce partnership with Retail Data including new 90 minute delivery service

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Retail technology specialist We Deliver Local has expanded its eCommerce offering, following a 12 month joint development with the ShopMate EpoS technology provider The Retail Data Partnership (TRDP), it was announced this week.

The joint partnership allows independent retailers to leverage their existing Epos system to provide an online grocery delivery service to their customers. Convenience stores using TRDPs EpoS system now have access to We Deliver Locals online grocery delivery platform, providing the capability for these shops to corner the local delivery market. The retailers entire product catalogue is merchandised online, and offers customers a supermarket-beating 90 minute delivery service using freelance delivery drivers.

TRDP is committed to ensuring that the new online system is rolled out to the 1000s of businesses using the ShopMate EpoS system. Independent retailers already benefiting from using the EpoS system can easily expand into the online grocery delivery market; the fastest growing grocery sector, with an estimated 126% increase in sales over the next five years.

We Deliver local provides the online platform as well as integration at the shop level to manage delivery logistics.

Consumers who want to support local business and independent retailers, will be able to order their groceries online and get it delivered to their door within 90 minutes. The collaboration of independent stores has the potential to rival the supermarkets and give consumers more choice over where they shop.

The Managing Director of TRDP, Stephen Burnett, said that the company is always on the lookout for ways to add value to their offering to ShopMate users. The convenience retailing sector is changing rapidly and retailers need to offer online shopping to their time-pressed customers.. We are delighted that we have been able to form a fruitful partnership with We Deliver Local, he said.

Driven by research into retailers changing needs in the age of online shopping, TRDP and We Deliver Local formed the partnership in mid 2013.

Together they support independent shops by providing the technology and the ability to sell under the We Deliver Local brand.
